Zucchini is a bushy annual that produces long dark green vegetables mottled with cream that are ready for harvest within 70 days. The yields and sizes depends on the cultivar, but 6-8 inches is typical. The large yellow tubular flowers that bloom in mid summer are also edible. Best grown on trellises in full sun and rich, moist well-drained acidic soils. Intolerant of frost, sow after soil is over 70F.
