Ilex x meserveae 'Royal Family' ~ Royal Family Holly
This product is only available in store. Visit our Nursery for more information.
Royal Family Holly is not a true cultivar but a combination planting of both 'Blue Prince' and 'Blue Princess to ensure easy pollination and berry setting. These broadleaf evergreen shrubs have blue-green toothed leaves and purple stems. Once pollinated, the inconspicuous female flowers give way to abundant dark red fruit that can persist well into winter. Best planted in moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.
May also be sold as Royal Duet, Royal Couple, or Blue Twins.
