Corkscrew Rush is a grass-like wetland perennial with distinctive cylindrical non-jointed stems that are tightly spiraled and uncoil as they grow to spread in every direction. The flowers and seedpods are inconspicuous. Best in full sun and moist to wet well-drained soils. Though it looks coarse, the stems are soft to the touch.
