Serbian Spruce is a large slow-growing conifer tree with a narrow, almost spire-like pyramidal habit with ascending branch tips. Its flattened bright green needles have silvery undersides needles that emerge with a whitish wax coating. Pendant cones emerge violet and mature to rich brown. Prefers rich and moist well-drained acidic soils. Tolerates clay soil and urban conditions.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance plant. No serious insect or disease problems but susceptible to a number of insect problems; the most common of which are spider mites, aphids, budworms and borers.
LANDSCAPE USES: Specimen or mass plantings, Borders, Naturalized Areas, Woodland Garden, Foundation Planting, and Street Planting.
